The HEAT project explored sustainable product design by focusing on material efficiency, recyclability, and minimal environmental impact.
By disassembling a coffee maker, the project analyzed its construction, materials, and sustainability to create a redesigned version with fewer, high-quality materials. The final design used durable and recyclable stainless steel and copper, ensuring a long-lasting, eco-friendly product.

The idea was inspired by a detailed analysis of the Electrolux EKF7700 coffee maker. By disassembling and studying its materials, construction, ergonomics, and market positioning, I identified ways to create a more sustainable alternative that balances performance and aesthetics.

The final design is clean and simple, made from a few key materials. The coffee maker's body is primarily made of stainless steel (containing up to 85% recycled content) and copper, both of which are 100% recyclable. The jug is crafted from tempered glass, with a removable lid for easy recycling.
